The X's flywheel looked (had it in my hand) the same as on my VIII.

 

They are not the same. The flywheel on the X located differently on the crankshaft and relocates the clutch slightly toward the engine to make up for the slight redesign of the p/pl center collar. FYI, we should have some Prolite and Streetlite EVO X flywheel sready to release in about 3 months.

 

any pics of the X vs the IX m/c and s/c whether it is adjustable or not? It has to be adjustable someway or another.

The X clutch is the same as the IX, but is forced to move 300 more pounds of car.
