I've never "grinded" the gears in my car. So my notchyness isnt as bad as others.

Why does it not feel notchy when shifted while driving briskly? Does the linkage change as you drive faster? Maybe the linkage is defective, like, it was not cast in the correct design for smooth shifting?

Do the JDM Evo's have shifting issues?
Your dog teeth probably are not aligned and its why it will feel "notchy". When the gear box is at a standstill the synchro's aren't turning so they can't align the teeth.

When driving briskly the synchro's are engaging which may be the reason you don't feel it then.
