attn: Ultimate Racing Metal HFC owners!

are you guys getting p0420 cel codes at all? I'm getting these usually in the mornings....

Curious whether its just my UR HFC, or whether everyone that owns this HFC is experiencing the same and is using an anti-fouler to prevent the CEL.

Please chime in in regards to the Ultimate Racing Metal HFC specifically and thanks in advance!

is that the emissions code for the heat bank sensor? When I had a test pipe I kept throwing a P1235. This can be taken care of in a tune to stop overboosting code and your emissions code. It is popping up because since there is no more cat, the sensor is not getting the right reading as before. Doesnt get as hot anymore.

Hi 415evox!

thanks for trying to help, but i think youre mixing up two different things... the
p1235 is the overboosting while partial throttle on 4th and 5th... its due mostly to manual boost controllers....

the p0420 is the cat code when u run a test pipe... I'm asking specifically regarding the Ultimate Racing Metal Substrate High Flow Cat owners if they are getting this code after running theirs.... basically if anyone NOT RUNNING a cel fouler, was getting any p0420 codes...

I've had the ceramic on for 3 days (with some hard driving on it) and no CEL yet (knock on wood).

I'm on Ultimate Racing Metal HFC for past 2 month.
No error code so far.

i have the same ultimate racing cat as you do and i also got a cel...the reason why i got a high flow cat was to avoid this problem but i got it anyway...so just yesterday i just punched it out and now its basically a test pipe...do you think anything bad would happen if i continue to drive with my car throwing this code?(besides not being able to pass smog)

It will eventually start to run rich. The test pipe has an angled bung for the o2 sensor to help it work better. Some people still use an antifouler though.

OK...

I just threw the P0420 this morning with the UR Ceramic HFC.

Just for people doing a search I thought I would update.
