That's kinda what I thought. Mine is in the shop now, and I am awaiting their diagnosis.

This is exactly what I was hoping for. It doesn't appear that any "hard" parts or gaskets were replaced.

It looks like a bad silicon seal for the t-cover. Was it leaking directly behind the water pump?

Mine is still in the shop....does you invoice state how many hours it took to resolve it?

Well, it doesn't state the amount of hours. I know I took it in around 1pm the day before and finished around 5pm the next day. For the most part it seems as though they worked on it all day yesterday.

And yes, I think it may have been directly behind the water pump.

Joe,

I would imagine that it couldn't be more than 3 hours of work...so my guess is $200-300.

Or do it yourself

Shyong,

It's been a few day now, have you crawled under the car to verify it is indeed fixed? I am still waiting to hear on mine since I dopped it off over the weekend.

Yeah, I don't see anything out of the ordinary. I'll give it about a week before I go back under and let you know then.

OK guys here's the continuation of my story.

Dealer found the oil leak, it was indeed leaking at the timing cover directly behing the water pump. They re-sealed the timing cover and I was off on my way a few days later.

The day after I picked it up, I noticed oil on the bottom of the car again. I took it to the dealer again, once again they state that the timing cover is leaking, and decide to order a new cover in case the original is warped.

A few days have passed again. I now have the car back, as of now it's not leaking...but I am not holding my breath.. I will report back in a few days...

I am losing my confidence in Mitsu very quickly..

Has anyone ever used the NDC (national dispute center) before?

As long as they fix it I wouldn't care. I noticed mine is leaking although it does look like the oil feed line for the turbo. Hard to say. I'm upgrading my turbo but they shouldn't be able to notice it is a Dom 2.0 turbo so hopefully if the feed line isn't it they won't give me a hassle about the O2 housing/test pipe on the car.

Unless you live hundreads of miles from your dealer as I do, and eat up warranty mileage for them to attempt to fix it.

I was decieved by the oil feed line as well...it is the timing cover directly behind the water pump and above the oil feed line. I am willing to bet alot of people have this problem and don't know it.

Can I get someone to take a picture of the area of concern?

I crawled under my car when I was installing my AMS front mount and took off the oil drain cover area on the under body plastics and I didn't see any oil residue and looked up and everything appeared clean...

If i could get someone to take a picture and perhaps even add an arrow so everyone knows the area of concern I bet a bunch of members would greatly appreciate it... I know I would.

Thanks,

John

I thought the leak would be a little more pronounced... I guess I will have to go back under the car to check it out.
