The fuel pump install went smoothly last night and I'll dial in my 800cc injectors Tuesday or Wednesday so I can fully test everything is ready to go. I'm going to be wrapping the tubular manifold and O2 Downpipe with that new Titanium heat wrap. The turbo will be wrapped in a T3 Titanium Turbo shield kit with a little modification. This should keep underhood temps in check and from what I've seen so far on other cars, this lava rock titanium heat shield stuff really works well from DEI.
Be sure to keep us posted. Good luck!

Well, I've pretty much exhausted all of my options at this point. I refuse to spend another hour or dime doing R&D for Garrett. I've just sent a full account of my ordeal to my vendor and we're in the process of getting me a refund.

Pity...I think I put a little too much faith in Garrett by blindly purchasing this upgrade. Lesson learned...

Very disapointing in Garrett, I think theres quite a few of us who had no doubts about this turbo in the beginning. Even if they iron out their issues, they have lost quite a few customers in the EVO community already.

Hope everything works out for you and you're able to recover as much of the $$$ as possible.

Funny thing is, a company like AEM, gave out 3 EMS units for beta testing for the EVO IX back in the day. Guess Garrett is not the same with their turbo's, they just outright sell them.

out of my own personal paranoia (and probably everyone reading) please post the results good or bad when you get them.

Yes, please do. In the back of my mind I really hope I just got lumped into a bad batch...but I can't help but think it's not just mine. It's kinda hard not to cast a cloud of gloom and doom over this thing...but I think I'm handling it better than most would. If this car was my daily driver I think I'd be WAY more pissed off.

Well, I think I (and probably others) should have waited until some concrete numbers and/or experiences hit the street with this turbo. Unfortunately I don't have the tools/space to pull off this install...or I wouldn't be so worried about spending $600 every time the turbo had to come out.

TO THIS DAY...there are STILL no tuner results with this turbo.

No Tuner results, and plenty of Tuners said "Installing one next week!".... baffles me honestly.

I just came back from the tuners trying to rectify the turbo problem that i have been having for the past 8 days, did several remaps and it is confirmed that there is definitely a problem with the turbo. The dyno figures shows some slight increase but not what garrett quotes >425whp, mines pushing around 330whp which is similiar to the car running the standard turbo but with a very bumpy curve.

the turbo spins per usual and dips around 5.5kRPM then inclines again at around 6.2k (strange!) so its quite jerky.

next action - wait for updates from Garrett and maybe put in a replacement 3071r and hope that the new turbo is ok (hope it works as the forum clearly shows replacements doing the same thing, its costing me time without the car, petrol for tuning and the tuners time, effort and labour into fixing this problem which is quite dissapointing of Garrett, which i still can't believe)

This is really disappointing....... my 3076 is just going to collect dust until they fix the problem or offer a refund.

i wasn't expecting these results from this turbo...i guess we relied on garrett's reputation that they did test these turbos before selling it to the public...i wonder what kind of testing they made...i hope they do make a good after sales customer service to save some reputation....

Thread title changed and stuck to get more information and hopefully some action from Garrett.

I'm really sorry, guys. I wanted one too! I hope they can resolve this for all of you and the next batch will be rectified.
