He's telling you that because honestly the stock Blow Off Valve, is the best one until you start hitting over 400 WHP. If you're going to say something about how you want the psssssshhh noise then change the air intake on the car to a cone filter. Other than that get ready to be flamed. A moderate upgrade would be the Metal Stock MR Blow-Off Valve; if you don't already have one.

I have the HKS SSQ. No problems with that either and I VTA. I would go with something thats already been on the market for awhile and tested to work.(with and without a rec circ kit)

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
There is always problems with running VTA on a MAF (metered) setup (aka OE Evo's).

Stick the the OE unless it is leaking on you.

Its your car so if you want to spent to money thats on you. performance wise dont think it would make a difference what so ever. If you want it for look appeal or sound then the HKS is for you. With the sequental you can dial it and change the sound.

the last time I read about getting a blow-off valve for my Evo, I read that it wouldn't make a difference and it possibly could affect/alter the performance a bit. I heard that Evo's don't work well with aftermarket blow-off valves......correct me if I'm wrong.....thank you.

Keep the stock one unless it is leaking or you have the need for a new one, i.e your runnig an insane amount of HP.
