1. Some people have said 5-10 just from what i read here, but it sounds more subjective.
2. ETS, Nisei, Cobb, etc
3. If it is your only mod, you shouldnt.

It's a worthwhile mod if you plan to get an ECU tune and introduce other mods that increase the boost. The stock UICP includes the long hose that can stretch under boost. My butt dyno noticed a slight difference in response.

The type of aftermarket pipe you pick is largely a matter of taste. They are very similar. In California, where smog tests include a visual inspection, you're more likely see people buy an aftermarket pipe that resembles the stocker. I went with the ETS pipe in black but Nissei (sp?) and RRE make a black satin pipe that more closely resemble the stock pipe. I didn't buy the RRE pipe because it came with the worm-style clamps and I prefer the t-bolt clamps which clamp more firmly.

I would go with the Nesei uicp. The flat black one is nice and stealth and fits great. Plus its pretty cheap. I don't know if there was any horsepower gain but the turbo does seem to spool smoother.

AMS, Ultimate Racing and Buschur Racing also offer UICPs that are worth taking a look at. As previously mentioned, you most likely won't need a tune if that is the only mod you are doing. As we all know, any mod that you tune for will optimize the performance of that particular mod.

Most of the UICP will have about the same gains. Nisei 1pc looks the best imo.

Cobb makes a nice looking kit but I haven't heard any feedback about it.

AMS' design seems to be the best from what I have seen. They use an actual coned piece in the pipe rather than a silicone coupler to do the transition.

Looks like Nisei has a vendor to sell their stuff now. You could have seen it installed on my car in person at the meet recently if you would have stayed later.
