Test Pipe VS Resonated Test Pipe

Is there a difference in performance between a resonated test pipe and a regular test pipe? I know the resonated one will be quieter, but would that mean that less power too? Who makes a good test pipe?
Thanks in advance,

Richie

I actually wanted to see the difference too. I hope UR or some other company could chime in on this.

^+1 only difference is weight. resonated are usually 1 or 2 lbs more.

Any restriction in flow will reduce power to a small degree.
In the case of a test pipe, its totally worth it, IMO. These cars with a full turbo back with only a muffler are wake-up-the-neighbors-loud.

He speaks the truth, lol. I just put my UR test pipe on and I have a Buschur Racing Catback with the bullet muffler. My car was kinda loud before, I wanted a little more, and UR said the resonated one is about the same loudness as the cat so I decided to go just normal testpipe, plus it was cheaper which was nice. DAMN, this car screams now. I like it but be ready for loudness.

I have the Buschur bullet too, and just bought a UR metal substrate high flow cat. I can see lots of light through this thing, so I know it's going to be louder, just don't know how loud. Can any tell me if a high flow is closer to stock cat loudness or test pipe loudness?

generally no power loss just some added weight.

HFC is usually louder than stock somewhere between test pipe and stock cat.

No performance difference, only sound difference from what I've experienced.

I have the turbo-back exhaust from UR w/mini-muffler test pipe. It's loud but not quite as loud as those w/straight test pipes or resonated ones.
