Question resonated test pipe vs test pipe (HP difference)

I searched and did not find a definite answer. Is there a HP difference between a resonated test pipe and a test pipe? I have a HFC and want to know what I should go with.

If the resonated test pipe doesnt taper than there is no difference.

I've not seen a difference with the Megan resonated delete pipe vs straight... however, it has no taper, and is perforated in the proper direction (away from flow).

BTW It's not a shameless plug... I don't sell them separate, and Megan is out until mid to late this month... I think.

I personally have a collection of all: two 3"HFC, one resonator test pipe and one straight test pipe. The resonator test pipe can almost flow as much as a test pipe but the main two handicaps to this matter is that the some resonator test pipes have smaller diameter and also the resonator cavity disturb the flow a bit.

This is just my observation. As far is performance go, this is how I personally would categorize:

cat delete straight trhough the most boost and flow
resonator cat delete lesser flow but still better than a HFC
3" HFC good flow but slows down spool up and boost

my .2c

It fits pretty much everything. It's not even an issue of fitting...the flanges just need to mate up, and that's pretty standard.

Not much. I had the older style resonated TP that tapered in the middle to ~2.5 inches. When I put on a standard TP the volume increased slightly and was not as deep, but it would be hard for a 3rd party to tell.

i've had both, i agree that the megan pipe sounds a bit deeper, but the test pipe flows better i think

The resonated one definitely sounds deeper and quieter.

As far as flow there shouldn't be much of a difference if the ID is the same throughout.
