AMS or Buschur????
I no this has been talked about but I'm I need of help & I need to pick one because I am ordering the kit asap.I do not know what is better the ams intercooler set meaning upper lowwer & core or the buschur now the ams is a 3.6" & the buschur is a 4.5" if I'm lookinf to go 400 plus whp what is the better system for m to get???can people tell me how they liked theres
GO AGP or GO HOME
Your spelling FTL. If you want to swing from BUSCHUR'S nuts...at least give them the honor of spelling their name correctly

: Sigh :
OP - ultimately you need to decide what your goal is - i.e. you mentioned maxxing out the stock turbo - you should try to find (if available) a compressor map for the stocker and do some calculations to see how much PSI you need your intercooler to flow effectively to match the OE turbo. A little research and math go a long way. Either AMS or Buschur will do the job for you based on their core size/flow rates/psi drop without a problem. Do you have any goals beyond maxxing out the stock turbo? This is where it gets tricky. Buy it bigger the first time, buy it once, no need to rebuy the part down the road.

ETS offers the following IC Cores:
20x12x3.0 Bar & Plate Core - 700hp Direct Replacement
20x12x3.5 Bar & Plate Core - 750hp Direct Replacement
20x12x4.0 Bar & Plate Core - 820hp Direct Replacement
AMS core is as follows:
Specifications
• 12.4" tall, 20" wide (32" with end tanks and bracket) and 3.625" thick
• 1250 cfm flow and only 1 psi pressure drop at 650 whp
Buschur Racing FMIC upgrade for the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X core comes in measuring at 12"H x 4 1/2" W x 18"L
Why not get the one that's good to 820bhp (ETS) or 650whp (AMS) and be done with your search? I believe that's currently the largest direct fitment FMIC for the X. It will definitely be joe overkill for the time being, but will allow you to max out the oe turbo w/o any restriction and also fits your long term goal. See how easy that is?

This is exactly what I want to do. Sit back for a while, you'll see ETS with a 2.0 & 4088 pop up here in a while, and there is someone else on here doing a 2.3 with turbotrix but I think they're going with a 3582. A 2.0 w/ 4088 on c16 and supporting mods should make low to mid 800's and will most likely outflow the ETS 4"IC. Luckily, they have the 5" which supports 1000+hp. The only thing I was wondering and haven't asked them yet is with the 5"IC will we have to have 3" ic pipes to flow what a race ported head and the 4088 will push. Plus, I'm wondering if a larger or redesigned intake manifold would need to happen with this setup also (not sure, just some food for thought). Stuff is going to get fun soon.
