Exedy Stage 2 Cerametallic Clutch

hi all, my stock clutch just died so i had an exedy stage 2 clutch put in. i'm noticing that it shudders on first gear. is this normal?? it doesn't do this with the other gears. i'm also noticing that the engine struggles now when i try to ride the clutch in first or reverse. i haven't ran it hard yet because i understand that it needs to be broken in for 500 mile. any ideas?? thanks guys...

Exedy clutches do chatter. We have an Exedy Twin HD in our evo x. My motto on clutch break-in periods are take it easy for the first 20-50 miles. Don't launch the hell out of it right away then you are good to go. 500 miles is a waste of gas.

i drove it for 70 miles already. and the noise isn't a chatter from the tranny, it's kinda like when you have a bad release on first gear with the stock clutch...like the engine struggles a little??

The shuddering is normal in 1st and reverse. Once you start getting use to this clutch. You will be alot smoother with it. That said, I just got the same exact clutch put on the other day. Along with Work's 9.2lb lightened flywheel.

sory for changing the subject but...I had the same question as op about the shaky starts in first....i just put the clutch in my car a day ago and now the service required screen for the drivetrain is on.....?!?!? the AWC? atf that you fill in the trunk is about half a quart low but i have to wait til monday to fill it because i was told that you can only get that fluid from the dealer and the closest is 4 hrs away....yes i figured i was going to need some kinda fluid after we got done...i just wasn't expecting to HAVE to get it from the dealer......unless one of you guys know of something else i can use that works the same or better. anyways back to the service required screen. it comes and goes. but it always comes back on when im starting to go in first. is the car just being funny bcuz the new clutch period? Could that fluid being low do that? I guess i could call the dealership and ask them instead of asking you guys but i don't want to because when i called to order the fluid i had to argue with the guy for 30 minutes because he was trying to tell me that i had to have an MR if i needed atf fluid. he didn't want to believe that i had the GSR.....sometimes i hate being a girl. Anyways, any serious help would be gratly appreciated

oh yeah and i just wanted to add that we pulled the motor when we changed the clutch just in case that would make a difference with why screen would pop up....
