Rough idle is a symptom of the bad tune from the factory. One of the reflashes should address part of that. If your car has always had the rough idle then it is probably not related to the issue in this thread.

SES light came on and my car had like no power, since 1 cylinder was barred useless as the groundstrap was crushed to the plug.

Just wondering because I have a rough idle, but I can accelerate fine with no detonation or anything appearing wrong.

Well yea I got tuned by TTP, but that was when my car was stock. Now I have everything else listed in my sig and I'm going to get it retuned on the 2nd.

So what is the most prominent symptom of a cracked piston*edited*? Misfiring?

SES light, misfiring, and you will smell unburned fuel coming from the the tail pipes. You may also hear metal bouncing around in your engine followed by it exiting through the turbo fins

Its not fun by any means.

So what is the most prominent symptom of a bridged plug? Misfiring?

The closed gap is a symptom not the problem.

Sorry I asked that wrong. I meant cracked piston.

Another Cylinder #4 issue (leak)

Not sure if this relate to this thread but I've been having issue with fuel smell inside my car for the last month or so but it have been very intermittent, with the DTC p0171 (System too lean) being thrown.

I took off my spark plug cover and right off the bat I seen signs of leakage coming from Cylinder #4 from my Ignition Coils, wiped off with a rag and smelled gas. All others were bone dry, but Cylinder #4. I'll check my plugs to see if one's got any signs of discolor and check gap.

Seems wierd that there would be fuel there. Does it look like its leaking from around the plug, or is the fuel rail nearby? The system lean CEL probably means that one of the cylinders is getting way underfueled.

How can fuel get on a coil? There is no fuel anywhere close to the coils, or are you talking about the boot that goes onto the spark plug? I could see maybe if the cover is cracked in that area or something that fuel *might* get there.

Yes very weird! Sorry, I did mean the black boot that goes on the spark plug itself. I will take pics on whereabouts but I have been monitoring this area since I've discovered the leak around this area and nothing.......then again I have not smelt the raw gas smell since then either. Fuel rail looks ok but I will check again.

Will keep this posted.
