squeeling/whistling noise

this afternoon when i got into my car and turn it on, i hear a noise iver never heard, so i popped the hood and it is coming from what seems to be like the passenger side of the engine but maybe from the middle of it. its a low whistle/squeel that i have never heard and have no clue what it might be so does anyone have the same issue or any ideas what it might be? i have 2200 miles on the car with a hks drop in, hks ssqv, and tune. thanks in advance

just wanted to post an update on what was going on. so i took my car into the dealer early yesterday morning and they kept it for a few hours and finally told me theyre gonna have to keep it all day because they cannot isolate the weird noise. so at the end of the day they still could not so they kept the car overnight and right now i spoke to the service advisor and he told me they thought it was coming from the heat shield but they removed it and its still coming from somewhere around there. they thought it might be a vacuum hose or clamp but that idea was no good either. so now theyre thinking it mght be the exhaust gasket. but there is no code so who knows. so it has been a day and a half and they cannot isolate the problem. i will keep updating as i learn more

well they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it so they gave me the car back and told me not to drive it hard because they called mitsubishi and a problem of that sort has never been reported so that didnt even help so theyre gonna send "engineers" out to see whats wrong with it. so i have the car until they come and then i have to take it back to them to see if they can figure it out. they said they might just replace the turbo or other parts and see if that fixes it. i think if it was a boost leak it would throw a code or i would at least loose performance. plus it really gets loud at an idle, and i dont create boost at an idle to who knows whats wrong with it. hopefully within another week we'll know

Holy ****, I can't believe Mitsu gave that kind of response... Why don't you do your own boost leak test? Just get a pipe cap that is the size of the turbo inlet and drill a hole in that and put a valve stem in it, sealed with silicone. Then put a coupler on the cap and tighten it onto the turbo inlet, or the intake piping if you have an aftermarket pipe.
I'm surprised they didn't give you **** for your drop-in, bov, and tune(if they knew about it). What kind of performance loss are you having? or are you having any?

i have tried with a stethoscope to find it in so many places but i can't. there is no difference in performance, no bogging no lag, no sputtering, no hesitations, nothing. theyre in awe too becuase no one there can isolate the sound thats why they say theyre bringout mitsu headquarters into it cuz they want the problem fixed. im gonna take the bov and drop out before i take it back. i hope they see a fully stock motor and dont even think to check for a tune. im just in a dilemma on reflashing the ecu or not. because i heard they'll know even if you reflash. so im thinking should i even reflash or not cuz if they look into it then im screwed either way. can anyone give me some insigh onhow the reflashes or tunes go as far as that?
