MR with a FP red

Who has a MR with a FP red or a Dom 2?

I am interested in upgrading the turbo and I would like to see their impressions.

Have you modded your x yet? Do you have the basic bolt ons? Has it been properly tuned yet?

I would suggest this first before going bigger w/ any turbo.

I would be interested in this as well, not sure if the SST in stock form could handle the power.

I'm getting an FP Red but it won't be tuned for full power(yet) as my SST tranny is still stock.

I suggest you do the same or upgrade the SST then get the FP Red.

Is it just me or the Blouch putting down higher numbers on pump then the FP red? Torque seems to be way higher on the blouch, might be to much for the MR...

we've got a XMR with all bolt ons and a red at the shop right now. we will be tuning it tomorrow. although with all the bolt ons (UICP,IC,LICP,TBE,injectors,Fuel pump, intake, 3port BCS, tune, the car was definately at/above 350 and had no issues with a slipping clutch.

350 is my estimate number, but I dont see this car with the mods minus the fp red hitting 350 at the wheels. Busher did a MR when it hit 350 at the wheels is started slipping so he turned it down to 345 and it was fine.

Isn't there a safety feature/restriction in the SST that won't allow a certain amount of power to be transferred through the tranny? Or is that a figment of my forum imagination? lol

Anyway, AMS was also tuning an RA with a FP red, and posted their impressions.
In short, the higher RPM power was good ~350, BUT it seemed TQ was very low for such an upgrade....

I would buy the AMS SST cooler if you go with a new turbo!

AMS has an FPRed on their RA, so I think we're going to start seeing more of these. As I said in Swingarm's thread, turbo upgrade?, the tuned stock turbos I've seen almost always have a higher peak torque than my car with a Red. I think the more linear torque curve of the Red lends itself well to the SST. The Red will flatten out your top end torque curve at the expense of some daily drivability due to the loss of low-end tq. Do it, man!

I agree, the additional lag may help, but when that power does kick in it will slip there is almost no doubt. Just gotta tune it for peak power I guess.
