Question on Works console bushings

During install of the bushings I noticed that the instructions call for installing the metal sleeves inside the bushing upside down from how they were originally installed.

They come installed flat side down and shaft up, but instructions call for " install from the top down" .

I installed as instructed, but I have been wondering about it. second seems a bit harder to engage at WOT.

I also have AMS under hood bushings. Also installed Works shifter with their bushings.

What exactly is harder to engage to WOT? Do you mean it's harder to shift at redline?

2nd gear is slower to be engaged at WOT. 1st-2nd shift. How did others install the bushings?

If you followed the directions you've installed the bushings correctly. I have these bushings and the WORKS "under-hood" bushings and haven't had any problems with them.

I have heard of people having difficultly/problems shifting from using solid under-hood bushings. Might be worth double-checking that those are installed correctly and maybe swapping the stockers back in to see you what that does it for you.

I installed both the works underhood and console bushings and have had zero problems. The shifting has dramatically improved and is very precise feeling now.

That's the point of urethane bushings, its to absorb and stiffen.
