Unhappy Vehicle lunging, trans noises, timing chain warning..... help.....

I am in dire need of some help/ guidance from anyone!!! I bought my GSR about three months ago and just turned 2k miles. Just as I have read about many others, I too have the notchy grinding transmission problem in the cold from 1-2 and 2-3. The car has a drop in K&N and is otherwise ALL STOCK. Today, I was driving about 50 mph when my car lunged followed by a beep, and a warning light consisting of a triangle with an exclamation mark (light went off 3 seconds later and is supposedly a "possibly worn timing chain" warning). The car immediately returned to normal. I drove the car for about another 12 miles and everything seemed to be fine. The car maintained speed fine, accelerated normally, and shifted "fine". When I was pulling off the freeway and shifting at low speeds, I noticed something new and exciting. The trans makes a loud engaging/ clunking noise when letting the clutch back out. It sounds almost like an E46 M3 for those who are familiar. Also the engine makes a now wiring sound at RPM that was not present before. I have read a bit about the differential pin problems but am unsure and don't want to believe that my virgin 3 month old Evo would already be a problem. If anyone has any answers that could help me with my notchy, grinding, lunging, clunking, wiring Evo, I would be much obliged...

Take it to the dealer and make sure you change your air filter back to stock. Some dealers will try anything to avoid warranty claims by saying your air filter caused this.

they have to be able to prove it caused the issue.

Yeah, but it's still easier to just change the air filter than to have to deal with their crap.

True... actually the fact that your getting an issue right away hints that the part just may be defective.

Just the fact of manufacting... not all parts are created equal.

Go see the dealer ASAP before more damage is done to the car.

Solar,
You have the same issue? What is the situation with your car??? Have you pursued the problem at all??? I called my dealer who happens to be mod friendly anyways, and they said to bring it in. I was told that I would have no problems due to the car being so new. I will have it there on Thursday night, and will keep you posted. I also forgot to mention in the first text that my car makes a noise on the first clutch engagement after it has been parked. For example: when I leave my house in the morning. I was told this too is not normal...
