Is there really a difference??

Power/sound wise from a single vs dual exhaust?

I'm about to buy one and I'm on the fence. I know what I want but I dont know which exhaust suits me.

I want the evo to have a unquie sound, I've notice that most dual setups sounds like a srt-4 with how it gargles (if you will) when you let off the throttle and are decelerating

I want to have the best flow, Ultimate vs buschur for example. when the exhaust splits it is very sharp and close radius with the ultimate vs the Buschur.

When curising I would like to be able to carry on a conversation with my passenger.

I want the exhaust to be deep as well

I'm going to get a test pipe, exhaust, downpipe all at once. If you guys have any info let me know. I saw the exhaust thread and read it but still i'm on the fence.

I bought a dual tip exhaust due to the two exhaust outlets on the bumper, didn't want one empty. Have you heard the buschur crossflow exhaust? has a very nice and quiet deep tone.

yes, ive been through 4 different exhausts. 2 dual, 2 single. singles sounded better to me especially at wot. the sound of a dual exhaust at wot was way too annoying and ugly sounding unless it has no mufflers than its nice.

Well said djstorm, you just wanted everything don't you? Best flow, sound nice, dual tip. Exactly what I want to ask too, but I was worried that ppl will slam me with "do ur own search, plenty info out there" lines. Lol, but u asked for me, guess u r more brave.

+1, I will read on and see if I can get some nice opinion from the gurus

read what i said. ive owned 4 different exhaust. 2 dual and 2 single. having a dual exhaust doesnt mean best flow all the time. i had a sideways muffler exhaust 3inch and felt much slower than my single. terrible back pressure especially running more than 350whp. single might not look the prettiest but it is the straightest

Check out my evo video, its the Invidia Q300 dual exhaust. Nice deep tone even without tp and dp. Quiet on the inside, louder from the outside. People have said it sounds like a real V6.

I'm on this fence too. Leaning towards the HKS Legamax or the Greddy Ti-C.

I've had HKS before and was pretty happy with it (was a carbon-ti on my viii). This is why I'm leaning towards the HKS. But I haven't heard either in person... so /shrug.

if you're looking for a weight savings over stock, then the single exhaust canister is typically lighter with the reduction of having to have the 2nd side canister- but then you become asymmetric and some people don't like that.

of all the singles i've heard, its louder than the duals.

also when you think about the airflow underneath the car, the stock exhaust 'plugs up the gap' of the rear bumper, when you go with a single canister exhaust, it creates an air pocket, with the dual, you somewhat dont have that issue.. of course you can run a flat rear diffuser to eliminate that issue if you got with a single canister.
