it boils down to which one you like the most, all of them give you gains and unless your shooting for 600hp than any of the 3.5 inch should do. ETS gave me the best price so thats who i went with and have no regrets.

Thanks for posting the link buddy! It's been crazy around here, so i'm trying to catch up to all the posts on evom. See you guys on Saturday!

If anyone has questions about our intercoolers let me know! We do something a few of the other manufactures do not. Hand port the inlet and outlets for maximum flow. Weld the inside and outside of the intercooler to prevent any type of cracking. We build a core that fills the whole opening. No 18" core here! We have a custom core that is designed for the X.

Also the same mods we run on our record making 2.0L 4b11 are the same mods you can buy directly from us. No special water/air setup, turbo kit you can't get, etc.

We run and sell what we build! Our customers tend to make same if not more power then what we advertise, no let down here!

coming from an engineer.......thicker isnt always better. surface area that hits ambiant air is most important. remember, the more volume you have to fill, the more pressure drop. and in terms of thickness...3.5 is more than enough. AMS or ETS 3.5" core

The price of the ETS is inviting, however I will probably go with one of the single piece endcap intercoolers (perrin / AMS).

Is there some solid data about the merits of solid cast end tanks like the AMS intercooler has over options like the ETS units? They are just so much more money, and I feel like you don't see a whole lot of data about the benefit.

AGP...cast end-tanks, large core, but still very competitively priced. This is personally my favorite Evo X FMIC choice on the market today. After that it would be Perrin (get one while you still can), then AMS.

I cant help you with any data, but it makes sense to me that everywhere there is a weld there is a higher possibility of weakness and possibility of a failure point especially over time. Those welded end tanks have a LOT of welds.

I am not making suggestions on what to buy. There seems to be many people that have welded end tanks running just fine with no problems. Myself, I am going to save up and go with cast.

Don't quote me and I'm only echoing what I have read in other threads on the web but cast end tanks cause they are usually rounded and have smoother bends that promote better flow. Also they are pretty durable. But almost always it's personal preference and 99% of the time it wouldn't matter for "x" user anyway.
