Thumbs down HKS SSQV on re-circ

I've read a lot about the SSQV and the problems using it VTA, I've no real interest in doing that though I bought the kit and fitted it re-circ as apparently it has no issues.......
........fitted mine today, and removed it today!!! On wot I got the engine check light and what felt like fuel cut, cleared the P1235 code and it did it again right away. It didn't hold boost, flutter could be heard just before I lifted off to change up, and even from the off my car just didn't feel as urgent, I'm so dissapointed!!
Anyone else had issues re-circ?

The info about recir having the same problem could be found within most of the VTA threads. But yes most people who ran recir had problems as well, including myself.

Sell it on the cheap or give it away for free. You think people would have learned by now.

as far as i know the P1235 is also connected with P1233, P1234, and P1238. I also triggered these codes when i got the 3port because i tuned the low rpms wgdc to increase spool up. The DTC P1233, 1234, 1235, and 1238 are currently disabled right now. I know i can tune it the airflow/torque tables but didn't bother.

My assessment is, your HKS SSQV could be holding boost much better than your stocker. Your stocker was probably leaking at that rpm&boost or during spool up that is why your popping the code when you had the HKS in. But then again i'm not 100% on my assessment. You could log your wot pulls with the HKS and the stocker too and we'll see what is really wrong. Till then i can't say 100% what's wrong but your HKS SSQV could not be a disappointment after all.

Thanks, but I'm done with it, I've been getting the P1235 code occasionally since I had my turbo elbow fitted even with the stocker, so I do need a re map, just didn't feel right with the HKS valve, not as urgent and it definitely fluttered and lost boost before I lifted off (that's the bit I don't get), as far as I'm concerned the more threads about this the better, maybe others won't make my mistake
Got some nice bov piping, so it's not all bad

FD? Like an RX7? Yeah because an Evo X and a rotary are so similar.

And blow off valves are a key part of the engine...

Trying to be smart with a statement that doesn't relate to anything in this thread except the 2 cars mentioned will not make you look good. Or do you think the Evo als has 4 inline turbos that aren't round and spin in square shapes?

A blow off valve is there to release pressure. It's been know for ages that HKS SSQV and Evo don't like each other too much.

If they are so key then explain to me why cars such as the Celica All-Trac and Buick Grand National did not have BOVs?

Being hypocritical only makes you look like an ***. Using some ignorant punch like also adds to that fact.

as has been said, there are no inter-changeable springs, this was also a X specific kit with piping etc
