You can easily rebuild a Journal Bearing turbo whereas you can't do the same with a BB turbo.

They look to cross at about 5252 RPM.

The differences off the bat I can spot, as compared to the Garrett drop-ins, is no ported shroud on the compressor housing and the compressor housing looks smaller. Based on what Tomei does with their ARMS turbos, I'd be willing to bet the turbine housing is much smaller than the Garrett's too.
you are right about the turbine wheel size 60mm according the the specs on HKS site.

This is true but having used both types over many years I've yet had a BB cartridge fail unlike journal bearing. Much earlier spool with with BB as well. Still for the price I'll be looking at FP.....

5252 is purely a conversion factor for SI units. As the units on the graph are in metric, they cross over at a different point. Not to mention, the scales are different.

You're wrong, it is not garret, garret is rotate in the another direction!

The Evo X turbo is regular rotation and most likely uses the Garrett CHRA. The Evo 8/9 turbo is reverse rotation, and why HKS had to get someone else to make the turbine and compressor wheels.

FYI, the Garrett turbos on the BMW X5M/X6M are reverse rotation, just too small for Evos.

If horsepower and torque are scaled differently, then they will cross at a different rpm.

On a side note, I'd love to test this turbo!
