Isn't this for a completely different turbo/setup? From what I noticed, Jan and Skyseer are pointing out a couple things that I think most of us are missing when attempting to answer questions or point us to the answers.

So what I'd like to know is (and what I believe others would like to know as well), what is the deal with the "GT II 7460R" Bolt-On EvoVII - IX turbo? Are there any numbers on this thing? Is it a true TS? Or adapted? (these other posts are confusing me, and I'm sure others as well)

I think since this is a bolt on turbo, it would be fair to say that the people interested in this are people that are either looking into FP/BBK turbos, or already have FP or BBK turbos, and want ball bearing.

So the right questions to ask are: How does it compare to the popular bolt on BBK/FP series turbos? Would it be between an FP Green/Red? or Red/Black?

(peak hp/tq and spool comparisons) Would be nice to see the power it produces on pump vs e85 across the rpm band with mild mods.

Another question that I'm sure may be lingering is that, does HKS have any plans on making different power level BB versions such as FP's white/green/red/black for different applications? I can see a big market for this.

Now, if the answers to these above questions have been answered, and I missed them somehow... then please point me in the right direction. Otherwise, let's try to keep this post productive and informative.

I love how this post died.
Would've been awesome to see a reliable FP-Red/Black power-level Ball bearing Bolt-On turbo.

So the question becomes, how is this any different than the Garrett bolt-on turbos?
Yes, HKS uses Garrett cartridges. Garrett does provide custom wheels for HKS and some HKS stuff uses standard Garrett comp/turbine wheel options. I don't know about the X, but for the IX it is a reverse rotation turbo so I will assume HKS had Garrett manufacture this only to be released through HKS. I will make a call to my Garrett contact to see if I can get the scoop. Perhaps Garrett will sell something through its distributors for the IX/X in the near future.

Also, with regards to FP and their custom HTA wheels, Garrett already produces their own line of like "HTA" wheels, which are designated GTX and sold as an option for the GTX42R. The GTX35R will come out later this year.

With what you guys know, what can we assume about this bolt-on ball bearing evo 8/9 HKS turbo?

What can we compare it to?

Just talked with my Garrett guy. He is not aware of any reverse rotation BB turbo becoming available through distributors. Most likely HKS paid for the tooling so this would be an HKS only item until the contract expires if that is indeed the case. The only reverse rotation BB stuff from Garrett is for 7.3L diesel applications.

I've seen this thing go for about $2,100. If it puts down 500whp with solid bolt on mods... and near 400lbs of torque on 93 octane... I'd totally get this thing for auto-x and daily on my 2.4L Mivec build.

I hope someone gets this and puts down some dyno #'s!!!

if you scroll down on this page, you'll see they tested this at 200kpa (converted to 29psi)

Full boost hits at just a smidge over 3,000rpm's. Peak torque is around 3,500rpm rated at 60kgfm (converted to 434lbs torque)

Peak PS is from 6500 - 7500 with no drop at all sitting at around 450ps, which converts to about 444hp.

The torque figures are out of this world for spool. It's no surprise it barely gets to 450hp considering it runs out of fumes. For what it is, this turbo is awesome. What I'd love to know at this point is if this was on pump gas. With E85, this thing would spool quicker, hit harder, and produce more HP.

I would LOVE to see an upgraded version of this from HKS that could produce a bit over 500hp with a mild loss of spool. I'd totally buy a bolt on TS/BB turbo if it spooled AS quick as a stock, but had capability to run 520hp +/- on pump gas. Hell, I'd pay $3k for that without hesitation.

I can see this as a great option if you don't have a FP or CBRD option available but it still seems like it's trying to catch up rather than innovate.

How can you say the HKS is an overpriced JDM bling bling.

If it performs as it is stated, price is right especially for a BB and being JDM.

So please, refrain yourself for posting stupid comment
