I've seen a couple reports of failure but it's a lot less common with the HD than other pressure plates. I have one without an upgrade...I'll try my luck for now.

My seals went in my SSP master cylinder within 3k miles. Kris at SSP hooked me up with some new seals for free.

If you go SSP, get the Plunger AND the MC if possible, for everlasting peace of mind, so to speak.
Do you have any info for one that applies to an 02 lancer OZ Rally?

Thanks for the help!

Ah crap this is what I was hoping to never hear about. I still have the plastic plunger in there. I guess I'll wait for the revised design with seals to order the arm.

I have no clue unfortunately. My knowledge is completely limited to the X and X alone. I read up a lot even during work about the X and it takes up too much time. If I started following the other stuff too, I'd have to leave my job . Sorry I couldn't be of help. You're at the mercy of your own search capabilities or other more knowledgeable people on the forum on that one I'm afraid.

Are people seeing this problem on their stock clutch or is it mostly with aftermarket ones?

I drove with the stock CMC with a Exedy Stage 2 HD Clutch for about 7k miles before it busted.

only aftermarket clutches. stock clutch with stock MC gives no issues at all.

Yup thats about what i got out of the stock MC with AMS ring with the exedy stage 2 hd also. Mine never broke but i could tell it was about to go, the pedal felt loose and the engagment point was way lower then usual.

Thats really troubling that they fail after basic bolt ons and a upgraded clutch. I know the better clutches put more stress on the stock CMC but they should have been designed a little better. Makes you wonder what else was designed barely good enough.
