Damn clutch master cylinder broke today
this is my upgrade or solution in my car. The great thing about it, it is completely stock feeling and look. The quality and the reliability is all in the name AP
i broke one CMC, and we used another stock one . But i wasn't 100% happy the fact any minute can be the end of my race because that stupid thing.
Now i am confident. Fact this new assembly feels even better then my old IX one. very precise and easy to modulate. Just a great feed back you have from this upgrade. Probably the AP master cylinder causing it. Also i am using the 3 pack Exedy clutch.
every evo x owners should upgrade the cmc if they will go another clutch route then stock.

My stock CMC went out on me last night pulling into a car meet at my friends shop down here in SoFla, funny part is I'm down here for the Weekend I'm visiting my parents, I have class on monday 250 miles away.. I'm currently on a ACT HDSS with around 3 thousand miles and it gave in going into neutral. The clutch had been feeling "sticky" like I read in a previous post for about 2 weeks now. Im going to AWD Motorsports today hopefully they can have something for me either stock or aftermarket I do not care i just need to get back to school....
I've been running a act HD clutch I've been runnin for 30k miles on a stock Clutch master cylinder perfectly fine. I need to upgrade tho the last thing I need is this thing poping when I'm hours away from home
I was at the dealership yesterday ordering a blue fuel pump relay and we got into the discussion of the CMC issue. Apparently cars made after 2/2010 have a different CMC in them. There is a revised part number and a new style retaining clip. My build date is 11/11/2010 so I have the new style CMC in my 2011 X. My parts guy looked into a few things and even called the parts distro that had one in stock and we were waiting for a call back.
I left the new part number information at home so I'll post it up later but I just got a call back and the new CMC is still plastic. We are wondering what the revision was such as maybe a metal sleeve insert or something so my parts guy is going to order one just to have one on hand. I had some wishful thinking that Mitsu redesigned the CMC to be metal but no luck just yet. From speaking with this guy he said it would take several revisions before Mitsu would actually do something like that... Anyway I should be able to get a firsthand look next time I swing by to order some parts to take a look at this new one.

They probably only revised it so it would stop breaking with the factory clutch. I highly doubt that mitsubishi would revise it to stand up to the additional pressures of an aftermarket clutch.
Probably true but never know. I've heard of it failing on stock clutch pressure and the design for what it is should never have been made with plastic. A sleeve at the very least would make sense...
If I remember, there was a JDM recall, and it was to add some kind of sleeve to the CMC.
