Understood Bryan.. I will ask one of my friends to try the BBX or the Lite then

And I agree .. the stock like appearance is definitely a big bonus .. especially when you open the bonnet during race days

Thanks for the info ..

I personally think the BBX Lite is a great turbo, it looks 100% stock, makes great power curves for the street and spools great.

I was pretty dissapointed that we didnt have "better" results from the Garrett testing..

It would have saved me quite an investment on having to make our own turbos LOL LOL!

Quite true .. their initial offerings really left a bad impression..

and it is hard to erase something that is so hyped .. yet leave a big disappointment ..

Their last replacement finally worked .. but guess they lost the momentum and everything is OTBE

I'll be contacting you shortly if my friend is up for it

I gave them some input on the covers and such- and they wanted us to spend our time to machine some things here.. which I said was just unacceptable..

I like garrett... they can be innovative when they want to.. I just feel they've gotten quite lax the past few years... there needs to be a better attachment and flow again between the motorsport side... and retail.

**** a link to the Dyno. Hi Im Tim Smith. Its a stock frame 3076 POST WG issue. The tune has been cleaned up since that dyno plot and made 501WHP. You are basing your assumption off of flow rate and nothing else. Variables are called that cause nothing is ever the same. Here is an updated Dyno Sheet. Dont pay attention to the numbers because the plot points were highlighted for before and after Mil.Spec work. Look at the GRAPH.

Hiboost has a well documented build, with every possible bolt on Inc ex manifold, intake manifold, etc and he made 380 on a mustang. 500 is not possible, period. This turbo has nothing on a black

I'll have a thread with the turbo I went with soon.... I didn't go with either of my previous ones mentioned. I got a big box of stuff from Chad at CBRD. 33rb, anxious to see how it does.

What size is the exhaust wheel on the CBRD lite/full? I would rather sacrifice spool from a roll to have great throttle response.

FP seems to manufacturer quality products but I haven't been impressed with the throttle response from their turbo's in the cars I have driven. they acted like mismatched compressor/turbine turbos (which they most likely are).

Thats why I'm looking at going to T3, so I can pick a properly matched turbo with instantaneous boost response. I have heard good things about the response of the HKS 7460 for factory replacement turbo however.

Edit: To be on topic, I vote for the gtx3076.

and their flowrate is probably exaggerated as well .. I could NEVER get even close to within 10% of their quoted flowrates ..

gunzo, sorry but that's not true. FP Black rated to 65 lb/min. I, on pump gas, flowed 60 through it, and murlo on e85 flowed 66lb/min. Once I do race gas, I'll be at 65 as well. I don't think they over-rate their flow rates at all.

I have not tested the FPblack .. so I won't claim on FPblack .. Their greens and reds are exactly as such .. overrated .. and inefficient at higher ambient temperatures .. If I use race gas as my daily gas, I wouldn't be driving an evo

did you measure the airflow on the car ?? and thank you for verifying my claims

Maybe they should have added "ON RACE GAS" flow too ??

I don't think anyone has ever had a 3582r flow exactly its max efficiency on pump either. So every company over-rates their turbo then by that standard, no?

I think the problem here is that one person is saying that the *maxed out set on kill* lb/min rating is true and one is posting the *everyday not set on kill* lb/min logged is different then that.

FP is from Texas and Robert the owner has a huge head so he rates the turbos with them set at maximum BBQ sauce, with fire, set on kill, flame broiled with extra calories, and we all know Texas does it big.
