Lockout issues are typically from improper installation. Myself and many locals run the ACT 6 puck with zero issues. At least a few of us shift at 9,000rpm too without issue.

pretty much what I've heard is act hd six puck if you're on a budget or exedy twin if you're not. keep in mind most will agree that you'll need to upgrade your cmc.

Turned stock flywheel is like turning your brake rotors. It will shave off a tiny amount making it a hair lighter.

You're not looking to make it lighter. You're looking to resurface it when you "turn" it. This process usually costs around $50.

I have the exedy twin hd. I would definitely suggest this clutch. Driveability is great and the clutch is able to be rebuilt if it goes bad or you can even rebuild it into the triple disc if you need to hold more power.

I just recently had an ACT MB7-HDG6 installed into my 06 SE (replaced the OEM clutch). On my drive home from the shop I didn't like it at all and regretted my purchase but a week later and I really like it! At first I was leaning towards a HDSS but my mechanic talked me into the HDG6 with the street-lite flywheel (his first suggestion was an exedy twin but that'll have to wait until next time). Now I'm not a clutch master or anything but I hadn't stalled my car at a stop light in a very long time but with the HDG6 I stalled it twice just leaving the shop!

300 miles into breaking it in and I've pretty much gotten used to it. I'll stutter from a stop first thing in the morning when I'm half asleep but once I get the feel for the clutch again its smooth sailing. One thing I've found is that if I give it a slight rev before I engage the clutch, 1st gear gets rolling much more smoothly. Hills are a little tricky but I find that once I get it engaged it'll pull itself along. I can actually drop it into reverse and once its engaged the clutch will pull me right up a slight slope into my parking spot without touching the gas.

Stop and go traffic isn't too bad either. Here in Seattle we have a lot of it and my whole way home is nothing but traffic and stop lights. I don't really feel the difference in my leg but then pretty huge so its weight alone can depress the clutch pedal.

As for the lockout issues...I haven't had a chance to try that out yet. Between the break-in period and an overboost issue I'm currently having, I haven't really gotten to rally on it yet. No chatter (yet) though which is nice but I'll post an update if I run into any problems!

funny you mention the 300 mile mark... when I took the maiden voyage in mine (HDSS full face disc) I was very surprised at how harshly it engaged! 325 miles in, it is much more manageable. Going to go nice on it for another 175 or so, then beat on it

FWIW, I went with the full face disc as opposed to the 6-puck because the general consensus seems to be the full face disc will have better longevity. I drive 20k+ miles per year, and don't need to be buying a clutch every year. Anyone have the 6-puck for more than 20k? If so, how long?
