Turbo Inlet --> Increase sound?

Hey- I was just wondering if adding a Perrin or Cobb turbo inlet pipe will add any sound to the stock intake. I have a Perrin filter which added a little more turbo/dv sound and was wondering if this mod will add any more.

Thanks.

Hard pipes will increase the sound but reinforced silicone hose type ones will not.

Ok- thanks for the info. I guess I'm a 30 yr old ricer because I want to be able to hear the turbo lol. I have a Perrin drop in filter, and it increased the sound of the turbo enough to be audbile with the radio low.

I have the Nisei intake and it makes the turbo more audible and you can keep the stock airbox if that's your goal. It also deletes that horrendous stock DV return hose which is a big plus IMO.

Yeah, the Perrin inlet did make it a little louder. Nothing obnoxious.

Yes it would a bit, but an open intake w/o airbox is what will really increase the noise. A turbo inlet will get you a bit of power though which is more important than noise!

Thanks for the comments guys. I went ahead and oredered the Perrin unit. In my experience with other cars, I've preferred closed box intakes, so I'm going to use this with a drop in filter. The noise is just a bonus I hate to say it, but this engine is quite raucous, so I'd rather hear the whoosh of the turbo to mask it a bit.
