Rear Diff Oil Change

So yesterday I was changing the oil on the rear diff (The LSD Part, not the AYC part) and apparently there are two bolts that say gear oil, one facing the front and the other facing the back. Like the genius I am, I tried to add fluid to the wrong one, (Facing the back) and was getting angry when it wouldn't go in. I know the hole I was trying to use says "Gear Oil" on it, but apparently it leads to nowhere...? (Considering the oil I was trying to put in was pouring right out and all over my floor.) Is my diff gonna explode now, or what do I need to do? Whats the point of the bolt facing the side that says Gear oil?

Thanks for any input.

there's both a drain bolt and a fill bolt for both types of fluids. so you should have two bolts for gear oil. 1) fill and 2) drain.

same thing with the torque transfer part

The rear facing "gear oil" fill bolt is for the Diamond ATF SP III. The front facing "gear oil" fill bolt is for the 90W LSD actual gear oil, this is the one you should have used.

On the diff there are two drain plugs on the bottom, but the plug I undid ant attempted to fill was facing the drivers side of the car and is painted red, with a little arrow that says "gear oil".

IIRC the fill plug for the AYC part of the diff says ATF with an arrow. I'm not sure what bolt I undid, hopefully my car doesn't die.

To be safe you should drain both and refill with with their proper fluids.

I'd like to know what the red painted bolt on the drivers side front of the diff with the arrow that says gear oil is for, if anyone knows. I suppose this isn't something that gets changed, but there are definitely two "fill holes" for gear oil, in addition to the fill hole for the ATF.

It's probably just a case bolt that runs into the fluid. There are only two true fill bolts. See the picture above for their exact locations.

To be honest it seemed to go no where...because I had the fluid drained and when I tried to pump it back in through that hole it was going out right back at me...I know none of it got into the LSD part of the diff because I left the drain plug off so I could pump a little oil through it and ghetto flush it. There is definitely an arrow that points to it and says "gear oil" though.

Thanks for your input, it's appreciated.

So for the record I just looked at the diff..and there are two what appear to be "fill holes" in it. One is the real one that is on the front side of the diff, and on the back of the diff, drivers side, is another bolt that said gear oil. It appears that the ATF part of the diff is the passenger side, the fill hole for the ATF is clearly labeled ATF SS3 (Or something like that, I can't remember) and is located more to the right side on the back of the diff.

The one on the back of the diff that said gear oil is higher than the front one. make sure you take off the front one too if you're going to use the back one as the fill hole.

Guys, just look at the factory service manual diagrams above and stop guessing! The pictures are very clear.
