Hmmmm, unless your revving it to the 9k mark for longer than 5 seconds, it should really be a problem.

Never had that happen.

Also, neutral can mean two things 1) Clutch in with gear selected, 2) Physically in neutral with clutch depressed.

Might want to get it checked.

I got my first x replaced because of that, but later found out the new x (+$2,500 in options) did the same thing. rev to 5k 3-4 times in a row and it happens.

I think all agreed that it was to protect the cat from unburned fuel or something. Only tried this with rich stock tune. Some say it holds the throttle so revs stay up between shifts.

It is weird like the hanging throttle when you rev it or the rpm not dropping when you lift of the throttle in 3rd. I have learned to live with this. This is my first turbo car.

pull the code. i doubt its simply because your revving. likely a signal of another problem you're unaware of.

I think it's overboosting and the car goes into limp mode to make sure you don't overboost. When you rev it up like that it starts hitting the 2-step, or where you launch it. The 2step allows the engine to boost up some so you aren't just at zero boost and you are trying to launch the car. I don't launch the car, but I have revved it before..

My '08 did this after I had my first exhaust put on. It would go into limp mode everytime i revved it up and it hit the 2-step a couple times. Eventually, I had to put my stock exhaust back on, for a different reason, and it never happened again.

Now I have different exhaust and a test pipe and it has not happened to me, yet. I am running the same map too. Cobb AP w/ Perrin Map Stage 1.
