Thanks for all the awesome responses guys. So just a few more questions. Is the Lite more comparable to the Green than the Red? Should I port it or leave it unported? What's the benefit to their tubular manifold over stock or ported stock? I can't even find it on their site. If I do a Lite like I said I'm going to do a dual 91/E85 tune. How big of injectors will I need, would 1000 be enough or should I go up to 1300? Looking to do a single Aeromotive 340lph pump as well, this should be enough correct? CBRD, if you could, can you PM me some package prices? And thanks for the interest in this thread and my concerns. I just like to try and research things and try and do things right and what's right for me.

My lite isnt ported and i'm hittin 400awhp so i cant complain. The manifold equals more power...period. I think i saw a thread where the CBRD manifold was good for dyno proven 30 hp. I've also got ID 1000 cc injectors going in as that's what Chad uses on all his builds so i know it must be good to go. I havent even replaced my fuel pump and i'm not having any issues so that's something i'd talk to Chad about.

sailcor, what rpm do you spool up at/hit full boost? Is that BBX Lite the same or more laggy then a Green? Also, what part of AL are you from, I used to live in Huntsville.

The green is probably comparable to the BBX Lite, in my mind sizing/power output looks like this, with tiny increments inbetween:
HTA Green < BBX Lite < Red < BBX < Black

LOL, boost my friend, boost! Thats what makes torque on these cars For mega torque, add displacement.

My concern with injectors and pump is going E85. I don't think the stock pump can keep up with bigger injectors and a bigger turbo. I was looking at the ID1000s, well originally 1300 DW but I've heard they are too hit and miss for me, and am just wondering if they can handle the E85 and Lite. Sounds like I need to talk with Chad!

Sounds like a good lineup for turbos. And the Lite and RED are right where I was looking. The boost aspect is what I'm trying to figure out for the torque. I know bigger displacement will help that, but I can't afford to do a 2.2 yet, but that is definitely in the plans and the works for a full build. Just want something to keep me happy until then, and I'm doing a dual tune anyway, so I figured might as well throw on a turbo while I'm here and not have to pay double tuning charges.

Good info guys, keep it coming.

I've had great luck on pump gas with a set of DW800's I picked up second-hand. Definitely do a fuel pump if you do a turbo. The stock pump will keep up but you will be pushing it to the limit, which is dangerous. I knew with the BBX on e85 I'd be at the limit of a single walbro and a set of FIC1100's (the logical next step from teh 800's I'm running now) so I bumped each component up a notch with a DW300 fuel pump and the FIC1680cc injectors. Headroom is good, safety first!

To give you an idea of the powerband difference between my stock turbo setup and my new setup, have a look at this overlay:

So my point is, if its torque you want, a bigger turbo will certainly help but don't forget supporting mods! Keep in mind two things: this is only on pump gas, and this is not a turbo-vs-turbo comparo. The upper BBX setup I built the head, did tubular manifold (hurt torque a bit around 4000rpm), put in Kelford 214-b cams (made up for the torque loss at 4000 and then some), MAP o2-elim downpipe, and put on a bigger Buschur FMIC.

Powerwise, I think a really nice setup (what you're after) for the BBX Lite would be:
TBE (including o2-elim downpipe)
UICP
CBRD, Buschur, or Perrin FMIC
AMS or Primo intake (your stock maf housing will be maxed out)
FIC 1100cc injectors
Walbro fuel pump (I recommend the MAP or Cobb adapter)
CBRD BBX Lite
BCS for map-switching boost control setup
Ported Exhaust Manifold

Down the road, on the stock block, there's more you can do to widen the powerband:
Tubular Exhaust manifold
MAP or Mil.Spec ported intake manfiold
Mil.spec ported TB
cams (go big if you do this, basic beehive valvesprings and GSC S2, or Kelford 214-B or -C cams).

Hope this helps!

Here's my thread so you can see for yourself. Keep in mind this was done at Forged performance who has one of, if not the, stingiest dynos you're gonna see. I'm from Phenix City btw.

Perfect example! Had I had a few more supporting mods (intake and fuel pump) in when I had my BBX tuned I would have made a little bit more power. 390 dyno dynamics (same as above-posted graphs) whp on a well setup BBX Lite is pretty badass!

Thanks dude, its back at forged getting a few little things done to it to get it over the 400 awhp mark on their dyno which i think will be quite an accomplishment. I love the lite though, b!tch pulls like a mule through redline as u can see from the graph.

Scheides, but remember this graph.... FPblack > BBX Better spool and moah power

More boost and different mods, just like the overlay I posted, its not a very good comparo, but certainly gives you an idea of the different setups at the time.

True, but all that my graph shows is that it is all about setup. It's about maximizing the setup to reach its full potential.

IMO, most of the X setups out there now are no where near maximized and there are lots of things to tweak to make them better. This is why its so hard to decide as some people have better overall setups making certain turbos look better sometimes and other times not.

It's a crap shoot.
