IF we are doing canyon runs or road/freeway runs, should we be using tube and fin style so the air can get to the radiator? I heard bar and plate are only good for drag races.

Have you considered installing a water temp gauge so as to be able to monitor coolant temps during your canyon runs? You could also monitor AIT's by installing a temp sensor in the UICP.

I just installed the new Mishimoto Performance intercooler not the cheapo stock fitment ones. It has a 3.5 core and is heavy as F&ck. But it fits nicely in the bumper and has lifetime warranty. Minus the fact it is designed and engineered in the US and Manufactured in China..................

Like with most parts we all at some point learn you usually get what you pay for.

Hey guys, I know sheepybuilt is a great company and they offer intercoolers for our cars just wondering if anyone has any experience with them ? Just trying to do some research before purchasing and I have searched and couldn't come up with a whole lot for the x. I see some stuff for the 8/9 but not too much for the x....

We have a ton of good intercooler options for the X. Go with one of the proven, big names. CBRD, AMS, ETS all make excellent intercoolers.

Got to the Evo X dyno results section. You'll see that ETS and AMS are thoroughly proven. You're making buy an intercooler way harder than it needs to be lol

Do I need to get a full intercooler+piping kit, or can I get the intercooler only and hook it up to the stock piping?
I'm trying to decide between the ETS intercooler kit or the AMS intercooler connected to stock piping. How much of a difference is there between 3" and 3.5"? My engine and transmission is overheating, and I'm looking at using this combined with a Dodson SST Sump Pump.

Both intercoolers bolt up to stock piping.
