So, today i did a little strong spool on my WW and 5th slipped for the first time. so clutch is starting to waste. I have about 450lbs torque and surprisingly the stock clutch held for about 1500 miles after modified. I do want to eventually drop in some rods and pistons. any suggestions taking in consideration the future plans? maybe some questions about the car so you can give me a better answer? i was prob think of either clutch master twin disc or the exeddy twin, but i kno in thees twin there are several different applications. please help and or reviews if anyone that may be operating any of these. I'm very opened minded, so any suggestion would be kindly appreciated.

I have had good luck with the exedy twins. I have read other people having problems with popping the clutch fork off. Should probably start doing alot of reading before you make your choice.

 

If you dont mind driving a very grabby clutch ACT 6 puck sprung works pretty well and is good for over 600 tq
also it very good for launching the car

 

Yes, definitely will be researching before spending almost 3k on a clutch with installation. thanks for your review by the way. What exact exedy twin do you have? and will there be a chance you might know which are the ones that people are having that problem with?

 

Definitely will be open minded, always wanted an ACT on my evo8, but never really had the chance. Do you drive with this clutch? and if you do, any other things might want to give a heads up on other than it being surly?

 

yea i have one in my X
Its a great clutch youll get a little chatter when newly installed then it should go away
and as far as ive heard that theres a few ways to break them in
i decided to take it easy on mine
or you can also drive it hard for a break in
overall great clutch

 

Exedy twin HD. From what I have read, it is hp, high rpms and fast shifts that make it fall off.

ACT if you can. They really found a way to make clutches that feel great and give you confidence while driving. I have had almost every brand of clutch in various cars and always go back to "I should have gotten an ACT" - regardless of the application.

 

The Exedy Twin (HD) is an awesome clutch for your power level! The pedal feel is nice and engagement is very smooth.

 

I can second that. I have about 1500 miles on my exedy hd twin now and it is surprisingly street able. I daily drive mine and it's not a problem. There is a little noise when the pedal is held in but nothing the radio can't fix.

 

I'd say Exedy Twin as well, heard almost only great reviews about it. Pretty sure AMS has them.

 

For your application i'd say an Exedy Twin HD should be good enough.
