Another Clutch Question!!!!!! which one for 600 Please Help

I was wondering what would be the best clutch for daily driving and also trips to the track for my car that has 600hp at the wheels.

I was told by AMS that it might be too much for the exedy twin to handle.

it is the Exedy Hyper Twin clutch with high load pressure plate

But cam across this thread while searching that says you can turn your exedy twin INTO a exedy triple if need be read matt gold's post

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ght=Exedy+Twin

I was just wondering what ya'lls opinions are about it. And if any of you making around 600hp are running the twin HD or the triple plate

PLEASE help me out I'm trying to get my car running

THanks,
John

I might be wrong but I thought the Exedy twin was good for 750 lb/ft torque? Horsepower is not the concern with the drivetrain, it's torque that matters.

I had to go to Exedy triple with my Fullrace GT35r, BR Stage 3 head and BR 2.3L stroker. Cusco Twin with HD pressure plate was barely hanging on to the 563hp/513ft.lbs. Along with other supporting mods!!!!!

I would look into a triple cermatallic from exedy. That is what I just installed on my car the past week. I personally talked with exedy about which one they recommended and this was it. I broke their twin disc sd making about 500 at the wheels. I barely launched it at all. I was shocked. I don't know how much more power the HD version will hold. I think it comes down to your driving. If you're going to drag race it, don't expect a twin disc to hold 600 h.p. very long. For cruising and wot pulls, it might be ok.

Ok thanks for the Help

You dont think I would need the Triple Plate HD seen below do you???

http://www.amsperformance.com/store/...products_id=42

I feel that I would just need the standard Exedy Triple place seen Below.

https://secure.buschurracing.com/cat...df735d32284310

I am not looking to make anymore than 625-650 Wheel HP EVER.

Do you all agree that the standard triple disc would hold the power???

I'm just trying to look before I leap lol

Thanks,
John

triple sd. Not the carbon/carbon. Exedy recommended the cerametallic because I told him I like to slip the clutch. They said it's better for slipping. We'll see......On a side note, they gave me a killer price on it. I guess they felt sorry for me.
