Weird sound few second after cold start-up
Hi..
These few days I notice a strange sound from my engine after start-up, it is a squeeching sound only for a few second. It sounds like something start spinning then the sound gone after it spins fully. It happens only during cold start-up.
I suspect it's the turbo, if i'm right, is there anything wrong with the turbo? I afraid something wrong with the bearing. I havent bring the car to workshop to check it out yet. Is it still safe to drive?.
For time being I am cruising at 140km/h for 40 mnts 4 days a week to/fro my workplace. Sometime I smell a burnt oil in my cockpit while doing 180-200km/h(with cabin air circulating, not takin air from outside)
Anyone had the same experience?

Not enough details to really make an educated guess. It might be the turbo, but it might be something simple like a belt that is wearing or a little loose. I think you should have it checked out.
I suppose you have already looked under the car for oil leaks and under the hood to see if anything is loose or leaking?

yes.. I have check under the cat & under the hood.. no loose part or leak visible..
but the sound pattern is similar like when you start an old table fan, it make noise while the blade start to turn & the noise gone after it rotate to it full speed..

I have noticed the same sound for the past month. It hasent gotten worse but goes away maybe 5 or 10 seconds after car has been running. I am curious to know what this could be. If anyone has heard anything bout this, please let us know. Kinda sounds like a squeaky belt but im sure it could be one of many things.
