Intake for a FP Green

I just picked up a fp green and was wondering if picking up an aftermarket intake for it is worth it. I’ve read that it will have minimal effect if any at all from some people but some others say it will help a lot. My supporting mods will be 1100 FICs, Aeromotive 340 BlaqOps fuel pump kit, UR 02 Downpipe and everything else that is in my sig and Ill have a 93 map and e85 map. I’ve been looking at 3" intakes like the Akuma intake, AMS, Cobb Silicone and some others. Is there anything other supporting mods I should consider?

Definitely do an intake. Besides, the stock intake won't fit the Green's 3" inlet. I personally have Cobb's turbo inlet tube designed for 3" anti-surge turbos.

Does that use the stock maf housing? If also heard that the larger inlet on the turbo actually hinders performace a little. Is that true?

Cobb's inlet tube does retain the stock MAF housing.

As for your other question, it depends who you ask, the exact turbo in question, etc. The inlet size won't hurt anything, but the anti-surge ports possibly could. I believe 3" anti-surge covers are the only way FP sells a Green unless you send in a stock turbo to upgrade. I'm personally testing a protptype turbo that I think will perform better without the anti-surge ports so we'll be making that change and retesting (it'll still retain the 3" inlet, just without the anti-surge ports).

You will want an intake that replaces the MAF housing entirely. In other words, you need to step up to a larger diameter pipe where the MAF screws in. Our 3" works very well and is exceptionally easy to tune. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line at the shop, and I am happy to go over any thoughts on the subject.
