Mine will throw some smoke out of the exhaust when I go WOT, did it when I bought it stock, and does it now with all my mods. Did it in my last turbo car as well

A smoking Evo X is more common then a non smoking X. Mine smokes with a good tune and a HFC. I'm going to try a new PVC though.

If your a/f is in the 11.5- or richer range at wide open throttle it's likely to smoke, the smoke usually thins out with rpm a bit. That amount usually increases the more fuel there is, the blue trails after wide open throttle runs are usually more attributed to pcv. If you can ride behind the car have someone drive by on the throttle you should be able to tell my smell what the smoke is generated from oil or fuel. Also keep an eye on oil levels, and yes it's pretty normal for an x to consume a little oil. Also keep an eye on it at startup, if it's the turbo (which I highly doubt) it will often smoke a little on statup.

My X burns no oil right now.

Yes the smoke comes as a large puff after going WOT then dissipates as you get higher in the revs. Even at 11.5-11.7 my car still blows plenty of smoke.

Strictly burnt fuel though

Every X I've seen smokes. I didn't think mine did either, till I let my wife drive it and she was getting gnarly with it and I was behind her. Definitely smokes @ WOT. Turbo back

Actually I was mistaken. Mine made light smoke when I had no mods. No smoke on built motor lol.

Ask a friend to trail close behind you when you take off from a stop light - guarantee he/she will disagree with you.
