Kinugawa 25g turbo thread for Evo X

So the guys over 1-IX have it going

I decided why the hell not on the turbo so I got one.
Ordered and they shipped it pretty quick overseas.

A friend of mine has inspected the turbo , and so far he says it looks like any other turbo.

I know one other Evo X running this and so far the numbers are pretty stout.

I am going with stock cams and block , i got a backup block just in case if I blow a hole lol.

I'm afraid of chinese made turbos. Does this have an MHI center section?

my tuner made 550 on his evo 8 with one of these turbos on pump gas. That car pulled like a freight train, turbo spooled quick and packed a punch! I am thinking of going with one of these on my car once I build the bottom end.

I think the findings where that they make the center sections for the big boys..

so in other words its like the "it fell from the truck" and sell it as a knock off brand.

lol

I wish the ground was more stable for products like this. you get so many mixed reviews. my main concern on these is the wastegate. I've seen a bunch of eBay turbo Honda's with no problems but they still get a bad wrap just because it's eBay or China. when do you plan on getting it on the car? are you going to get it checked for balance? I'm very interested in results as well!

From the first pick it looks like the upper intercooler pipe is going to have to make a 180 to mate with the compressor side ???

Definitely subscribed. A no named turbo will need to stand the test of time (and abuse) in order for me to open my pocket and/or risk my motor. Too many instances of chinese made turbos grenading.

Well, I've had a long streak of badluck with my EFR blowing. I bought a new kit with the 25g. It hasn't been working properly becuase of either an exhaust leak, boost leak, wastegate problem. All to which i have attended to many times and still can't seem to figure out. I'll say though with barely boosting 18 psi and boosting super slow it feels like a monster. I can't imagine when dialed in 24 psi DD and a monster e85 tune 29 psi.
