Are these mods warranty friendly?

I'm looking to do a small set of upgrades to my 2014 GSR EvoX im thinking the best first few steps would the Intake system as well as the IC and possible the exhaust (Its my first tuner so I'm still learning the ins and out of everything). I don't want to void up my warranty the in the first little while i own the car has anyone had any experience dealing with what parts are ok and so on... or is warranty something i shouldnt even worrie about and just power it up

I think doing anything under the hood and even as far as wheels/tires will void it. So it depends do you want your warranty or not

Dealers will try and find any excuse not to cover your car under warranty. If you care about having a warranty make sure the mods you do are something that you can undue yourself in a days time. Otherwise screw the warranty and start moddin!

Mods and warranty do not go together.

It competely depends on your dealer, too. Some are very mod friendly, others will void at the slightest mod. Technically, they should only void the area that is related to the specific mod you did. For example, putting new wheels on will not void your engine warranty, etc.

Just so you're aware, say you change your intake out with something aftermarket. Then you have a problem and want to take it in for warranty work. The dealer can usually tell when you have swapped something in and back to stock...you're not really fooling them lol.

If you want to mod, I'd say just do it! These cars are pretty reliable when you take care of them, so enjoy it just make sure to have a little set aside just in case.

Best thing to do is ask your dealer you plan on taking your car to/ bought it at.

Do you live somewhere where it's cold, snows and the streets get salted? If you drive your Evo in that, the ACD pump is almost guaranteed to fail before 50,000 miles and if you've done any power mods be prepared for your dealer to tell you that they void the warranty on the pump. The first mod I wish I had done was to create an ACD savings account and save up the 2 grand. Lol

Thanks for the advice! It is very cold where im at and snows to no end at times. As much fun as it would be to drive in the winter I think Im going to park it for winter I'll keep in touch with my dealer when i do decide to do some modding. If they say no ill probably just do er up anyways

make sure you do research on the parts you are trying to put on as well. big example is the intake. ive read plenty of threads where the intake would throw SES light.
