Big nightmare
yea I appreciate all ur opinions.... I think what im gona do is just get a built short block and have the shop put it in and call it a day... I thought about it and if I take all the mods off.... I HAVE to make sure all bolts are tight and look like they were never touched.... then have it towed to dealer, wait a yr and a day for them to examine it... then determine... then do another break in period with the stock block.... pay the performance shop to put the forged stuff in and tune it.. so it just seems cost effective to get the built shortblock and move on.... I just want my car back...

Whatever shop you use for the new block please make sure you follow these steps that AMS has so you don't get shavings in the new block. If you want a awsome short block i would go with theres. I'm running their 2.4L with my MHI!

I'm getting my MHI installed soon, how is yours doing with 2.4L?
I would. It never hurts. I do my own work but I'm sure if you take it to a shop that works on Evo's they would know what to do. Then again, now days it's pretty hard to find a reputable shop.
not gonna like i kinda expected that when you said earlier you had to pick up pieces out of the engine bay.. sorry to hear..well maybe you can throw her up on jacks for a bit and start putting some parts together with a builder..
Update
so.... found out what it is.... REPLACE THE DENSO SPARK PLUGS THAT COME FACTORY.... the casing came apart, wasn't sparking correctly, cylinder filled up with fuel and all the pressure made it go boom.... its known supposedly and still no f***in recall.. come on.

Was this the explanation from the shop?
I ask because if the plug was sparking, it was igniting the mixture, if it wasn't sparking and the cylinder was filling as you stated--then you would have had a dead miss--firing on 3 cylinders--something you couldn't help but notice and it would take quite a bit of time to fill the cylinder from the injector--again something that you couldn't help but notice. ( mixture would be pushed out the exhaust as well, never really "filling" the cylinder) A cracked or missing casing on the plug is most notably caused by detonation--ie back to the mixture/tune.
Hate to see you getting what appears to be "odd" diagnosis. Good Luck.
thanks man... that's what everyone keeps saying that its returning back to the tune setup... at this point I just want it fixed properly...am I pissed f*** yea I am.. but what am I gona do... roll around and cry... just make it worse..... so its gona come back bigger better and badass
