I hope your getting a GTX with the 11 blade compressor, and not a standard GT series turbo...

Is it the stock frame offering GT3071r from ATP? You should also consider the GTX3071r (a little more expensive, but newer design).

I thought 400whp was the goal because you did not want to build the engine. The 3071r is going to spool slower than a MHI TF06-18K. You should look over some dyno charts for the 3071r, they might make you change your mind.

Hopefully its the one Garret makes. They have a GTX3071r that bolts in just like an MHI 18k, so there is no sharp U-turn in the turbine housing like the ATP bolt in stuff. Or he is going with a t3 setup, who knows. Maybe he is just welding a gt3071 to the stock manifold...

If I were OP, I would get this with a EFR 7670 super core (or 7163 if that is an option)

I wish someone would make an investment cast hotside for the 4-9 to work with the EFR turbos.

It is imperative you do bolt ons (turbo back, bigger IC & UICP) and maybe consider E85 (bigger injectors & upgraded fuel pump) if you want to be safe and reach the full potential of the 3071r. Just curious on why you did not choose the GTX instead?

Yes I'm getting fuel pump and injectors. All the rest later as well ! E-85 is kinda hard to get in Virginia where I live so I won't be going that route. The closest gas E-85 station is about 2 hours away. I couldn't go over 2k for the turbo.

I talked to my tuner and he said they spool about the same. The GT can make more power so I went that route. I didn't want to build the engine at first but had a change of heart lol. I'm getting all the necessary bolt ons as well

Yes, you want the GTX. The compressor is much better.

This is that turbo VS an FP green, which is the same as an MHI 18k. I would still go with an 18k.

Damn I already bought the standard GT. I should've went a few extra hundred bucks for the GTX. More spool would be nice. I'll see how it goes. I'm install and get it tuned and all. I'll just end up getting the GTX or FP red

You will be disappointed with the GT version compared to the GTX version. Spools slower, less power, less response.

Why they even sell that turbo anymore now that the GTX exists I have no idea.

Personally I would return it and get the GTX.
