Lower boost, what could it be?

My lower map tune usually see 25-26psi and drops to 18psi by 8k RPM. My higher boost map usually see 29-30psi and drop to 18psi by 8k RPM.

For some reason now, my low map doesnt pass 20psi while my hi map peg at 25psi. They will both come down to 18psi by redline.

I checked for leaks and didnt find anything. Is the stock Turbo done? What could it be?

What did you do to "check for leaks"? The only way to properly do this is to do a boost leak test by pressurizing the system.

It could be, its a crushed wastegate but never had an issue with it before.

I was trying to do a baseline pull before changing the turbo to 18k. If its the wastegate i wont try to fix it as the new turbo comes with its wastegate.

I checked all the clamps and hoses and everything is tight. Im planning to pressurize the system tomorrow to double check.

I dont want to put a turbo on until i know the issue first. Otherwise i will have many variables to check later and it becomes harder to diagnose.

Yeah, a visual check is only going to catch something super obvious like a torn coupler or super loose clamp, which the car wouldn't even make the boost it's making now. Gotta do a pressure check.

Just completed the pressure test, no leaks.

I think the stock Turbo is shot. Anyways its a good thing i had the 18k Turbo in the back seat. We started the swap now.
