Normal drivetrain whine or....uh oh
So I just bought an EVO X, gotta say I love it. Did the full fluid change out at 30K miles on it (Bought it @ 28K) and I've worked on a couple but never owned one. But here is my issue.
I just noticed it, but under a good pull I hear gear whine in 1st, 2nd and it creeps away into nothing at 3. If I'm just crusing in 4th and 5th I hear nothing at all. Is it normal drivetrain noise or my T-Case failing. I didnt drain the AYC because I dont have the tools for it to do it right. When I clutch in in any gear the whine just vanishes. Like nothing.
Sounds like a roots supercharger as RPMs Increase.

Doesn't sound like T-case to me - which fluid are you using in your transmission?

I'm using the cocktail right now. 2 quarts of Redline MTL and about 1/3 (As much as it would take pumped in) Redline MT90. I'm fairly convinced its either the oil pump making its usual moan. But I haven't a clue. When I drained the transfer case (Which I think I'm the first to do on the car because its low mileage) I saw a decent amount if shavings but they were fine and it wasn't a trail which would tell me its a failing or as far as I know.
