AMS STX500 Kit versus other turbo kits

Gents,

Goal: 480-500whp

Current Mods:
AMS FMIC/UICP/LICP
AMS INTAKE
Grimspeed EBCS
Turbo XS Turboback
cobb v3

Want to buy:
AMS widemouth
1000cc injectors
265 fuel pump
stx500 turbo kit
retune

You think that would do the trick? Been looking for this setup online and I can’t find anything.

Thanks in advanced.

That kit is like $9000 isn't it? You could buy the pump, injectors, turbo and the retune for a fraction of that and still have enough money to buy a steak dinner every night for a year!

Also I think the AMS packages are rated at crank HP and not the wheels, I could be wrong though.

We aren't far away in Vancouver, WA and can get you the bolt on GTX3076 turbo, ETS downpipe, Fuel pump and injectors. Probably be quite a bit cheaper than that package since you already have most of it. EnglishRacing can do the tuning and is about 15 mins away from us.

If your budget allows for what you listed you could really do a full turbo kit with a 5858 and leave room to grow later. That is the route I would go (and did go on my own car).

I don't even see that kit listed on the AMS site.

Depending on your budget, I would attempt to get my hands on a EFR kit from any of the branded companies like ETS,Full Race, Driven, or even CBRD. MAP performance has a nice kit v band kit. But you might need to run E85 to make it there.

AMS STX500 turbo = ATP GTX3076R

Same turbo, all AMS adds is a different compressor inlet.

My 18k took a dump so Im thinking about the GTX500. Not sure how the spool up would be compared to the 18k. If the GTX500 uses a 3076 Turbo then maybe the Map performance 3071R Turbo is also a good choice for a quick spool up Turbo.

Isnt that a good thing in such a tight place with the stock manifold?
