First oil leak!

Alright, so the 2014 X has it's first leak! I need help in finding the best way to deal with it. Its coming from the 2 oil lines from the top of the oil filter, right where the metal line transitions into rubber hose. What are these called? Or any ideas on patching it up?

Those are the oil cooler lines. If your car has <60k miles, it should still be under warranty. Call your dealer with the VIN and see if the powertrain warranty is still active. If it is, take it in...

As mentioned, they're oil cooler lines. Never heard of them leaking, but perhaps there was a sight flaw or defect in them causing them to leak. This is where the warranty comes in as mentioned as well.

Well it only has 38k but it has a lot of bolt ons. I'll check the warranty. Does this mean I need to replace to stock before I take it in? Lol

No, bolt ons don't cause oil leaks.

So you don't think they would try to void warranty with intake, full exhaust, IC, BOV? That would be nice if they ignored it.

They can't say any of those parts caused an oil leak, so, no. Also, from experience, I had the dealer fix a rear diff oil leak under warranty on my Ex's X MR, and it had similar bolt-ons.

Can always take it to a race shop and do AN lines and never have to worry about it again... but the dealer should be able to get this done for you!

There's nothing wrong with the OEM line. NO reason to spend money on AN hose and fittings.

fwiw i developed some leak/seapage after going an fittings - but that's because i didn't use OEM washers between the adapter & the oil filter plate. the oem washers are actually kind of interesting - crush washer deal on the outer portion, and a rubber ring in the inner portion

well it was stated that there was a leak coming from the those lines so obviously there is a issue there... tighten the fittings and if still a problem then go to the dealership, if they won’t cover it I wouldn’t spend the money on OEM crap I would go full AN... never had an issue on my car with my AN lines

Alright thanks for the help guys. Gonna call the dealership and see what they say. Was thinking about upgrading the lines if I end up having to do it on my own.
