Short Shift question

Hi guys
Not sure if my sons car has been fitted with a short shift gear stick and was hoping someone could let me know.
Shift travel distance on his car is about 5inches from 1st to 2nd.
Regards
Peter

Hi guys
Not had any responses to my question so far, possibly because the way I worded it.
What I want to know is how far does a gear knob move when shifting from 1st to 2nd on a standard manual gearbox.

The short shift kits for the GSR only reduce the throw about 25% so without going out to the car with a ruler, I'm not sure anyone can really help you figure that out. If you pull the boot up you can visually check pretty easily. The stock unit is straight and the Works / Torque Solutions / TWM units are kinked.

Left to right - Stock, TWM, Works

Hi
thanks for responding.

Been looking at different images on the web and looks like car is fitted with a standard shift lever.
Going to buy torque solutions short shifter for RHD car , which are straight and not kinked like the LHD shifter.
will also install new torque solution bushings throughout.
regards
peter
