Question Transfer case removal

Alright so ive watched every vid, and looked at every write up i could find on the removal of a transfer case. Im removing the engine and im down to just the block, tranny and transfer case (this originally wasnt going to be a full motor pull) everything else has been disconnected. I have watched one vid of the removal of everything with the transfer case still attached to the drive train and ive saw others where it was still connected to the tranny and the tailend was removed. So far i have both axle stubs removed, all 6 bolts connecting it to the transmission, throw out bearing is disengaged, and trans mount unbolted and i cannot get it to separate for nothing. Is there somethin im missin here?

Did you remove the intermediate shaft with a slide hammer?

See 10:22 in video ( yes its an evo 8, but intermediate shaft works the same)

i had to use a slide hammer when removing the passenger side. on the driver side when i just simply pryed a little bit to pop the axle off. the entire shaft came out to, seemed a little to easy to me.

Did you take the heat shield off the top of the tcase? That might be hanging it up. Did you take the ACD hydraulic line off (this won't hang it up, but it needs to come off)?

On some cars, where the tcase has never been pulled off, it can take a gentle prying to get it started coming off. Just the tip of the pry bar is needed, don't shove it all the way in and mar the machined surface that mates with the trans.

You only needed the driver the side shaft out to get the tcase off, but removing both isn't an issue. With all 6 bolts out, it should come off now. Just may need some persuasion as mentioned.

Yes heatshield, and line has been removed. I knew that passenger side shaft didn’t need removed but I was at the point of **** it let’s see what happens. I have tried prying on it making sure I stayed on the edges but still nothing. I literally have ran out of ideas and am at a loss.

It's just stuck on there. You're gonna have to use your best judgement in prying on it to get it off.

Post a pic of the 6 bolts you have taken out. I want to make sure you have the right 6 bolts removed...

There is a dowel pin that has a friction fit. Those are the six bolts..... I'd start with some gentle prying to get that dowel worked loose but if it doesn't budge don't force it.....

Sometimes they're just stuck man. Gotta pry a bit. Those are the correct 6 bolts. With those out, and the driver side stub/intermediate shaft out there's nothing "holding" it on.

It's hard to tell but from your first pic it looks like you have one left. You are correct that there is only 6 t-case bolts. Did you get the one that's super long? looking at your first pic, it seems like it's still there. It would be the one to the right of the partially installed heat shield bolt. All of your bolts should be exactly the same except for one, it will be about 4" long.
