Act hdss clutch smell

2011 Evo gsr with a act hdss with around 400/500 miles. Broke the clutch in fine shifting around 3k etc never launched never wot. Well recently Iv started doing some wot pulls and iv noticed right after that the pedal feels weird. I’ll go to a stop and in take off the car almost stutters like it’s trying to grab but not fully. I will also get almost like a burning tire/plastic smell which I assume is the clutch. Recently also if the car is parked in the driveway which is a little inclined and take it to the garage I’ll smell it also. I feel like I’m burning the clutch but Iv driven manuals for over 18yrs this is my 3rd evo so I’m am fairly confident it’s not me and the car has not done this until I started doing wot pulls. Maybe it’s still getting broken in? Any insight helpful!

stock cmc also. I plan on doing the clutch pill delete also to see if it will help.

The stock CMC is probably going out and not doing a good job of modulating the clutch. I'd replace that ASAP.

I would expect it to be hard to get into gear though. Shifts are fine even fast shift if I’m going wot. Just feels weird after wot and the burning smell.

Your options are-

1. Replace CMC (this will need done eventually anyways)
2. Pull trans and inspect clutch.

One is a bit easier than the other to do first.

Get the AMS CMC kit. Much nicer part than the MAP kit. Easier to install.

map has a new twist in style where you don’t have to grind the studs like the other kits and older kits. I went with for ease of install. My old 08 had the one where you had to grind the studs and it was a pain in the butt.
