Actually you already can see how large inside the new Evo will be, just get in the new 2008 Lancer and it is a larger car on the inside, especially the rear seats compared to outgoing version. One thing that bothers me is the location of windshield fluid and battery in the rear (meaning no folding rear seat and also reduction in overall trunk space, Mitsu is saying they did it for better weight distribution but I have a feeling that it's because of the engine design that they couldn't fit those components in the front of engine bay). Anyway, overall the new Lancer is more roomier inside but trunk space is about the same although the new trunk is less deep but much higher.

 

^^ The windshield washer fluid is already in the trunk on previous models.. Doesn't take up any room.. The battery as been moved for better weight distribution.. (which a lot of autocross EVO 8's and 9s's do)..
