I believe anyone making a reasonable income(about 45K +) could afford and EVO if they were willing to give up enough. Especially if they don't live somewhere where the cost of living is through the roof.

 

For me, its really appealing. I have a kid and a wife and I wouldn't mind having my Evo be a little more upscale and toned down. On the flip side, you can't beat the driving experience of the current Evo. We'll see if the X make me just as happy.
