It seems like Mitsubishi is trying to capture a different market with the Evolution. They are straying away from the boy racer and more to the young professional.

So where do you stand?

lol 14.5... thats like completely off of mitsu's target range.

But all in all, even though mitsu is targeting a more mature audience, the majority will probly always be 18-25 because its a evo... Older guys want more luxury and comfort rather than street worthyness. Evo X is a step towards that but, not quite there yet, homies.

I don't think they are trying to capture a NEW market, just more of the existing one. The vast majority of 16-19 year olds can't afford the old or new evo. Even if they can afford the car, the insurance and maintenance would push them away. Yes some can, but not the majority. The Evo's market has always been males in their early/mid twenties to early thirties. Cracking into a new market would take a major design changes.

For example look at Cadillac - it moved all of its car's design to a more angular look to get away from the 'grandpa's car image. It was a drastic design change across all models. The new evo, although different, shares many styling ques with the old evo.

26, my fiance and I are making pretty good money now but I'm not going to pay 40k for a GSR. I'd rather save up a little more and get a Corvette if I wanted to drop that much cash.

I have to agree with you on that one. You could get a 335i for that kind of money too.

The Evo was NEVER marketed towards the "boy racer".

The MINIMUM age that Mitsubishi intended to market the Evo towards (regardless of the model year) is 24. The range for the car is 24-32yr old males who make 40k a year. Now the new Evo is moving towards the 30-45yr old bracket and a a family income of 100k+.
