Question EVO X vs EVO IX, finally a test! MT

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/index.html

Just started reading 1st page.........sounds like there are some issues with the X they got as the results are not pretty. Damn I wanted EVO X to win but if tests keep popping up like this back to EVO IX for next car.......

Ouch, 0-60 and 1/4 not looking pretty!? 96 mph trap? EVO IX beat the X around the track?? Need to keep reading

just read it..whether the outcome would be the same or not, they should have gotten a "more healthy" X

Based on a sick Evo X that comparison is inconclusive. Mind you I still don't think the X will win even healthy. BTW the weight comparison compares the IX MR to the X MR, which is not what they tested.

quarter mile time is rather disappointing, however, it is a pre-production car and it is not "heathly".

very interesting read nonetheless.

Hopefully when the production Evo X comes out, it will net better times than the Evo IX.

But quick is a relative term and compared with the IX GSR, the X could be best described as sluggish. Powered by the proven iron-block 4G63 turbo-four making 286 horses, the IX eclipsed both marks in 4.7 and 13.4 at 102.2, respectively. Seeing that the old GSR weighs a substantial 331 pounds less than the new one yet sports a near identical horsepower rating, not to mention a similar torque output-289 pound-feet versus the X's 300 (estimated)-it's not surprising that the IX was the brisker of the two.

*glances at his IX, mwahahahahaha*

I wonder what Mitsu's reaction/response will be to this article.

Driving me nuts on what a healthy EVO X would do. Marginally better? Much better? hmmm

Doubt it...I am a sad panda...

It would be nice if the production model is faster though.

What is the point of having so much gripe if the car can't even go fast?!

I hear ya man.....I'm now just waiting for some newer reviews. If Evo X doesn't work out we still got the IX and who knows what other sick cars come out in 08
